Friday Lovin' | October 30

And just like that it is the end of October. Sheesh I though time flew by in college, but seriously it just keeps going faster. Anyway, here are all the things I am loving lately.

1 | Nursery Progress

I am going to do a full post once we get our last two things in for it, but it is really coming along! We have all the wall art (except the dream catcher) done and pretty much everything ordered that we need. Little man is going to have the coolest room in the house.

2 | Products

[Morphe 35O Palette]

Goodness I am just so in love with this palette. Honestly the colors are perfect and the formula is great. I am still trying to figure out the best eyelid primer to work with these but so far I have been loving each look I have done with it.

[Palmer's Cocoa Tummy Butter]

What on Earth would I do without this stuff. The space where my belly button ring used to be is starting to actually get kind of painful so I am loading it up with this stuff.

Recently rediscovered this love of mine when I was going through my bin of back up items. It leaves my skin feeling so fresh and clean, and it helps with the acne that is ever so slightly there still. I have a a.m. and p.m. skincare routine coming next month so be on the lookout!

[Beesential Beeswax Lip Balm ( Lemon & Lavender)]

I was given this by a friend and I love it. It is such a refreshing scent and the lip balm itself is a really great texture. My lips love it.

3 | Vampire Diaries

Do I really need to explain myself? I am just as obsessed as I was in the beginning, the current season is bumming me out a bit but it won't stop me from watching.

4 | Halloween

Dressing this bump will be a bit of a challenge this year, but I always love Halloween.

5 | The Berry's Morning Coffee

A Whole Lot of Empties

 photo Empties 1_zpsjtkingwo.jpg

When we first moved into our house and started unpacking everything, Nate made a comment to me about how much back up product I have. Things that I got to test and then never finished the bottle or lotions that I bought in bulk during sales - you get the idea. Well I kind of took the comment and put it in the back of my mind for a while, and then in June he again brought my attention to all my stuff by saying he just wished he could open a closet/bathroom cabinet without seeing my back-up stockpile. Well I listened this time and I must say I did some damage on my products. My empties bin is overflowing and I am full of thoughts and opinions on these products. Maybe one of these reviews will help you decide what to try next and what to skip.

Here we go...

Bumpdate | 32 Weeks

 photo 32weeks_zpsyerb7fkv.jpg

[How far along]

We are at 32 weeks! Ah this kid could be here in 8 weeks (give or take).

[Size of the baby]

Little man is still growing, and the reference for size this week is Bok Choy or a squash... So we are looking at about 16.7 inches and 4 pounds.

[Weight Gain]

Just under 30 pounds. Still feeling good about everything.

[Symptoms]

Every single time I lay down I feel nauseous lately (I am not laying on my back, sides only). Like I have said to some friends, I am pretty sure that 32 weeks of easy pregnancy is going to catch up with me eventually. There is definitely a bit of what seems to be round ligament pain, and I am having occasional Braxton Hicks contractions. Nate and I are preparing for the back pain to return and have the kanesio tape sitting out ready to go. Still not dealing with heartburn so I am guessing this kid is going to come out bald (this is not just a wives' tale apparently - article).

So other than all of that, I feel like I have been sitting on a bike for the last two weeks and I cannot drink enough water to keep my legs from cramping. I still am enjoying being pregnant though (for now haha).

[Gender]

We are having a little boy! The reveal story is here

[Nursery Update]

We are making progress and it would be almost ready for the little guy if he would come today. Missing some small stuff (like sheets and such) but for the most part it is good to go!

[Craving]

I have defaulted back to strawberries, bananas and apples. Seriously nothing is better.

[Projects]

Storage solutions
Organization Ideas for closet
Art/pictures on wall
Heartbeat print
"bearskin" rug?
Fairy moss jars
Peter Pan Hat
Dream Catcher
Lost Boys Blocks

I have everything for the Blocks bought, parts of the dream catcher are ordered and some of the stuff for the pictures on the wall. I also ordered the heartbeat print and it should be here soon!

[Random]

I thought this kid was moving a lot before, but the past few days it has been even more than before. They are stronger kicks and movements too (obviously) so that has been fun. He has kicked Remi a couple of times and the dog didn't even react, just kept relaxing using my stomach/the baby as a pillow.

Goodness time is flying still. I guess we should start thinking about hospital bags huh?

Second Star to the Right

Well happy Monday! It really is a good morning for me because I started doing baby laundry last night and everything smells like baby now. Nate doesn't know what I mean by that, but someone out there does right?

[Friday]

After work, I headed south with 4 of my college friends. We about all ate our arm on our way down because we were so hungry, but we made it in time to hit the Amish buffet and everything was right in the world. After dinner we headed to my grandparents and talked with them and my mom a while before heading to bed.

[Saturday]

I started off bright and early getting ready for the baby shower. Honestly, I could have woken up later and got ready fast but I like taking my time and letting myself get distracted with other things along the way. Anyway, the shower was brunch and my mom and grandma (and great aunts) kicked butt with it. The decorations were adorable and the food was perfect. This little guy is so loved by so many already and I feel so blessed to have such a great support system.

Tradition

Oh hi there, yup it is me again. I swear one day I will get in a good routine and post regularly and with more exciting stuff than just our weekend recaps and pregnancy updates, but today is not that day.

[Friday]

Friday was most definitely a prep day for Saturday. After picking up one of my beautiful friends, we headed to the grocery and came home to start making food. She made pumpkin cupcakes (I heard they were amazing Princess) and I made a triple batch of Kornflake Candy which is still being eaten at my house. Eventually I picked Nate and some of his fraternity brothers up from the school's parking lot after they claimed a spot for Saturday. They then spent the rest of the night just being them, which is always entertaining.

[Saturday]

The day of FC Traditions started off bright and early with our Pi Phi breakfast. We ate, talked and sang like all good sorority girls do and then headed out to start tailgating. Our home base was with Nate's fraternity brothers, but we walked around quite a bit. I love my little school, it makes finding people so much easier. Eventually we wandered over to our Pi Phi suite to see how it had changed (it looks amazing btw), and then I decided it was definitely time to sit down.

 photo 20151017_124900_zpsofbpfjkx.jpg  photo FB_IMG_1445117286946_zpsbqdkwacy.jpg

Liv and I headed home sometime during halftime to let the dogs out for a bit and start my soup. Time obviously got away from us, because when we got back the game was over. We won, by quite a bit. So we helped clean up and then headed back to our house while Nate went to the SAE auction, with a don't spend any money warning from me (my warning didn't work). Eventually Nate and some of the guys joined us at a friend's house in town and everyone ate soup, drank (except me), and just hung out until it was time for the bar.

I honestly thought we would never leave the house. The bar we go to is always PACKED on homecoming weekend with all the alumni coming back trying to prove they still are able to drink like they did, and I eventually pulled the mom card and kicked everyone out to get the bar train going. Yup, I walked around my best friend's house turning off lights, TVs, candles and locking doors while ordering my friends to go to the bar. It was a reverse mom role of sorts. They listened though.

I obviously was that pregnant lady at the bar which made for some interesting conversations. Best one was probably between Nate's good friend and a random guy there with his wife, he was trying to tell the guy he was the father and Nate was obviously trying to set him straight. Eventually they just looked to me for the right answer of who my husband and father of the child was. That is just a snippet of the conversations that happened while at the bar. Oh those boys, always entertaining.

[Sunday]

Come Sunday morning I felt fine other than a slightly stuffed up nose from the cold the day before. Nate and I relaxed a bit and then I went into cleaning mode and made him help me clean and organize the entire garage. It looks amazing. I did some laundry too, but what I didn't do was the dishes. I hate dishes. By 8 p.m. we were crawling in bed and I was feeling miserable. I definitely overdid it this weekend. Lesson learned. I stayed up long enough to see that the Cubs were failing and thankfully not long enough to see the worst play ever by the Colts.

[This Week]

My Mom and Grandma are throwing my shower this weekend so I am headed that way with a carload of friends on Friday. Nate gets to be on dog duty all weekend, which I am sure he is super excited about.

Bumpdate | 31 Weeks

 photo 31weeks_zpsa8zig0hn.jpg

[How far along]

31 Weeks! We are almost to the 60 day mark and I truly am in shock.

[Size of the baby]

Leighton is about 16.2 inches and 3.3 pounds if he is following the average growth of a baby. This would make him the size of a bunch of asparagus or a pineapple!

[Weight Gain]

Just over 26 pounds now, and I have 9 more weeks to go. That being said, my phone says it is above average, but I will be right at 30-35 pounds gain if I keep going how I am between now and the end of this and that is normal from what I have read.

[Symptoms]

You know, the standard. Out of breath, occasional Braxton Hicks contractions, lots of bathroom trips, and problems sleeping. My nails have started to get a bit dry, but that could be the weather or my polish remover too. I haven't noticed any boob leakage yet and I am really trying to keep my posture in check to keep the back pain away. Overall, I still love being pregnant and am overjoyed with how this pregnancy is going. Thank you Lord!

[Gender]

We are having a little boy! The reveal story is here

[Nursery Update]

It is looking more and more like a little one is coming! We finally got a lamp for his room that isn't filled with wine corks

[Craving]

Um, I have been smelling marshmallows everywhere I go. Does that count?

[Projects]

Storage solutions
Organization Ideas for closet
Art/pictures on wall
Heartbeat print
"bearskin" rug?
Fairy moss jars
Peter Pan Hat
Dream Catcher
Lost Boys Blocks

Well, I added some and started some, but have finished none. Still planning a trip to JoAnn's to get supplies for some of these projects. The heartbeat print is almost done, I am still messing with it a bit, but it looks so cool!

[Random]

Baby boy has had the hiccups a couple of times this week and that always feels a little funny. Nate finally was able to feel him kicking and was able to "play" with him a bit (tapping and kicking back and forth). Pretty sure it ever so slightly creeped him out, but now at least he has felt what I feel all day long. It was the first time he really was able to touch my stomach without Leighton going completely still once he did!

Also, as we have been putting away shower gifts we have been trying everything out (obviously) and I am amazed at some of the things these gadgets can do. It is so nice to see baby things popping up around the house, it keeps him top of mind no matter what we are doing and I love it!

Finally, I keep having the same thought about when he will decide to make his appearance and I keep going back to Christmas day. Seriously, I just have this feeling that he won't come on time, I will get induced on Christmas Eve and labor until Christmas Day. Can't help it, I am convinced it will happen. We will see though won't we?

 photo AugSept2015_zpsbpa7axos.jpg

Here we are again with another Ipsy "unboxing". I am doubling up this month since I didn't get my August one up in August. Whoops! We are starting with Prep School (August) and then moving on to Face Fashion (September).

Showered with Love

What a weekend/week. It was a full and busy one which made it go by pretty fast (except for Friday, which drug on and on). Anyway, I headed to Fort Wayne Wednesday for work and Nate joined Friday evening. We had our first shower and it was fun to share the spotlight with him instead of having to be the sole focus. Here is a bigger run down of the weekend for ya!

[Friday]

After work I headed to the in-laws and hung out with them while Nate drove up. Once he got there, we sat and talked for a while then headed to a friend's house to visit with some of them. Really that was it for Friday. I called it a night earlier and we headed back to his parent's house and fell asleep hard and fast.

[Saturday]

Saturday morning was party prep for the shower that afternoon. I ended up getting ready and finishing up just in time to help with the last bit of decorating. Seanie and my in-laws did a great job with the shower and Nate and I felt so special. Among some of the big necessities, this kid also now has more camo than his Dad and I love it!

Cake | Cakes by Jennifer

They stuck to our Lost Boy's/Peter Pan theme from the nursery and it turned out absolutely adorable. Our friends and family made not only us feel loved, but really showed the love there is for this little guy already. We can't wait for him to get here!

[Sunday]

Sunday was pretty normal. After packing up and heading home, Nate put together our new MamaRoo and we put the rest of the new baby stuff in the nursery. While he mowed the yard, I sat in the rocker in the nursery and did absolutely nothing. That was followed by food and some catching up on TV shows we missed because of the Colts game Thursday night. Then off to bed we went. Super exciting right?

[This Week]

This coming weekend is homecoming! We are so excited that Nate actually has a job where he can enjoy the day and we can be there for the football game. That hasn't happened since my graduation. Not much is going on during the week. I may hit up JoAnn's for some stuff while their big sales are going on, but other than that it is all up in the air. Here is to no weekday plans and alumni fun this weekend!

Pink October

While October is filled with pumpkin spiced everything, Halloween and crisp leaves, it is also a month to focus on Breast Cancer Awareness. So let's all take a pause and spend a little time thinking/sharing/learning about this disease that will affect 1 in 8 women.

Thankfully there are more and more groups and organizations out there trying to make a difference. Among those is Glamulet, who donates 50% of their sales to charities that support breast cancer awareness. Head over to their page to see more about the good they do and how your purchase can make a difference.

How do you raise awareness for causes you are passionate about?

This post is powered by Brand Backer, but all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Friday Lovin' | October 9

Another week down and normally I would begin my Christmas countdown, but there is a whole other countdown ruling life now. Here are my favorite things from this week!

1 | Little Man's Nursery

 photo 2015100795164115_zpstp4by2mu.jpg

The chair made it here on Wednesday so Nate and I are officially done until after showers happen. November is looking like it is going to be filled with waiting and crafts to pass the time. I can't wait to get actual decor type of things up on the walls and really make it feel like his little place. For now it is a really great start though!

2 | Baby Daddy

[source]

No, not my baby's daddy, but the show "Baby Daddy". Yeah sure it gets cheesy sometimes, but I can't help but love it.

3 | The New Jergens Lotion

I remember seeing that their formula changed a bit and the scent was supposed to be better, but I didn't notice it on my last bottle. This time, I don't notice a scent at all throughout the day and the scent it has while applying is actually really nice. Thank goodness for the constant evolving of products. The color still looks good to me and I don't notice it rubbing off a lot on my clothes either.

4 | The Berry's Morning Coffee

I start every morning looking at The Berry, here is what made me smile today!

Bumpdate | 30 Weeks

So I am switching things up a bit for this post because we are about 20 weeks (give or take a few) into this and I am bored with the same things. Plus we have so much going on now that there is other stuff to share that is more fun than there was in the beginning.

Also, I forgot to take a bump pictures before leaving on my trip for work so instead I am sharing some of my inspiration for the "Lost Boys" nursery.

Lost Boys Peter Pan Inspired Children Photography:  Inhabitants of Neverland → The Lost Boys:

[How far along]

30 Weeks! 71 more days! Our countdown at the house is still in weeks/days, but once we hit 60 I am switching to just days.

[Size of the baby]

Our little guy is approximately 15.7 inches and 3 pounds (app averages for this week of development). That makes him about the size of a large cabbage

[Weight Gain]

Still right around 25 pounds now.

[Symptoms]

Breathing is definitely my biggest issue, that and the uncomfortable feeling in my ribs. Honestly, I am still feeling pretty lucky and am trying to keep doing what I am doing in hopes that things continue like this. I made it to the gym once this week and it felt awesome, other than that I am really focusing on stretching and my posture to help my body out. My dreams are just as crazy as ever too so I am really trying to stay away from anything scary/crime focused to keep the crazy more toward the happy side of the spectrum.

[Gender]

We are having a little boy! The reveal story is here

[Nursery Update]

All the big stuff is in! Our chair got here yesterday morning and Nate will have it in place by this weekend if he can get it up the stairs. I am so excited, everything is coming together.

[Craving]

Cookies at this very moment, and an apple. Typical.

[Projects]

Storage solutions
Organization Ideas for closet
Art/pictures on wall
Heartbeat print
"bearskin" rug???
Fairy moss jars
Peter Pan hat

[Random]

I found out that little man likes classic rock this week. Normally playing country would get him moving pretty quickly, but it felt like he was in the middle of a complete rock out session when I was listening to the classic rock station in the car. Fine by me. I would love to have a child that enjoys The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Beach Boys, The Beatles, Boston, etc.
