Starting Over, Again

 photo Workout1_zps2d46e977.jpg

I mentioned in my goals that I really need to work on my working out/fitness. This has probably been the umpteenth time I have said that, but I really want to commit. I made it to the gym three times last week and will again this week.

I am my biggest competitor/critic. No one can make the changes I want to see but me, and that is my problem - I get complacent and do not stay committed. My idea for keeping myself accountable and on track is by making a fitness journal. I still use bodybuilder.com to track workouts and measurements and stuff, but I like things in my hands physically (I am a list/notebook/planner person) so fitness journal it is.

So, what am I putting in my journal? Here are the general sections.

Goals

I know I am not a big person, but I still have jiggly places. My goal is to turn the jiggles from fat to muscle, this means I will gain weight and look smaller. (Each month I will set a specific goal)

Measurements and progress photos

Both Nate and I are going to do this at the beginning of each month to keep us going. It is hard to argue that you are doing enough if your February picture looks worse than your January one.
Measurements that will be included: calf, thigh, hip, chest, arm.

Welcoming November

Morning everyone! This weekend was a great one, let me tell ya. Friday evening we were supposed to get our pictures taken but mother nature did not agree and they got bumped to Sunday. That meant my entire schedule was thrown off and I also gained some more time to think about what props to bring. Unfortunately, I had an amazing hair day that got wasted that day but oh well.

The weather didn't clear up for the trick or treaters that came through that night, and I felt bad for them (so I gave them extra candy obviously). There were two groups that stuck out in my mind though. The first was a little girl that rang the doorbell then said "Can I pet your doggie!?" instead of trick or treat, and the second was a dad who was walking around with a beer as his child knocked on doors. My thought - you sir, are doing this right. As I waited for the kiddos to come around I ended up cleaning my kitchen and baking cookies. A good night for sure.

Saturday morning we went to help our friends move in to their new house and then did some stuff around the house. Nate had a soccer game to work that night so I went into photo/blog mode and got a lot done for this week picture wise. We headed to bed early Saturday night because we are old apparently and we had to get up early for our rescheduled pictures the next day.

Sunday was our anniversary - celebrating one year of wedded bliss - and I was up bright and early to get all glammed up for our photoshoot later that morning. You can check out some of our wedding pictures here. It was so cold outside, but we managed and I can't wait to see how they turn out. If you need a photographer for anything in the Indianapolis or Fort Wayne areas I suggest checking out Dustin McKibben he is great to work with.

Driving home after our photoshoot
Once our pictures were done we were starving and headed off to get some Mexican. Then it was home for a nap before working on homework (Nate) and design work (me). The night ended with a bowl of popcorn and watching "Skyscraper Live".

Now that November has arrived though it is time to revisit last months goals and set some new ones!

Friday Favorites | October 17

Okay, so today is going to be a mix of catching up on #blogtober posts as well as my Friday Favorites. I am doing this for two reasons:
1) It just makes sense that my favorite quote and favorite fall fashion looks are on my Friday Favorites
2) I have been traveling for work and got behind on posts...

So to kick it off, my #blogtober14 post from Wednesday was supposed to be my all time favorite quote and why...

This quote

Always remember you are braver than you believe...winnie the pooh quote, lettering art, vinyl wall decal
Old Barn Rescue Company
I chose this quote from Winnie the Pooh because it really just makes me smile every time I see it. It snaps me back into the reality even on my worst day, and reminds me of just what it says: I am Brave, Strong, Smart and Loved. I can do whatever it is I need to do.

These outfits

Thursday's post was supposed to be all about fall fashion, and as I have previously mentioned I have been looking around for the perfect outfits for a photoshoot that is happening at the end of the month. That being said, here are my favorite fall fashion pins!

Cute tights for fall   plaid shirt and fur vest over it... paired with leggings..

Tights, booties, fur and black - my fall essentials.

These mugs

I found them at Francesca's via Keep.com, and aren't they just perfect!?

My puppy

Like I said earlier, I have been traveling for work this week so when my husband posted this picture of our lovely pup on Facebook/Instagram one morning I really started missing home.

 This song

So, this is just the perfect pump up for the weekend song don't you think?

That is all for me! What is on your favorites list this week?

Words for your Wednesday | No. 2

Every now and then life throws your curve balls that ruin your plans. For me this week definitely started with a curve ball - Nate had to switch flights and therefore needed me to pick him up in the middle of the night from the airport that is two and a half hours away. Then I also had to return my brother's car to him at school yesterday which meant that I didn't have a lot of time to write a post. Goodness, if only I had a way to schedule these ahead of time - oh wait, I do. Yea, I need to get better at doing all of these on Sunday when I have free time.

Anyway, I didn't want to go two days without a post so I am sharing some words that I have been loving recently and that I have found at just the right moment.

Words for your Wednesday

So, seeing as how I was without power/internet at home for four and a half hours last night, this is a simple post for the day. I always love finding inspirational and fun sayings (from Pinterest mostly) that are designed well and I thought I would share some of my favorites as of late. So here are some words for your Wednesday!

Don't rush and never settle. If it's meant to be, it will be.
