Everyone needs a little "me time" every now and then. For me, it takes a little more scheduling and sometimes multi-tasking. Take for instance this very moment (yup as I am writing this post). I am also taking some "me time" and pampering my skin with a GlamGlow mask. Really I just try and make sure that at some point in the day I put myself first. You can't pour from an empty glass.
Sometimes I get lucky and have more than 15 minutes to pamper myself, and when that happens here are some of the things I treat myself to.
I have received some of these items from companies for testing purposes, they are marked with c/o after them. Although I received these products free, these are my honest opinions. I wouldn't say I liked something if I didn't, and I certainly don't mess around about skincare.
A Bubble Bath
Nothing beats it. Grab a glass of wine, pick out a relaxing playlist, and drop a bath bomb into the tub. Yes please. Sometimes I get brave and even read a book (honestly most times I am too scared I am going to drop it though).
A Mask
Like I mentioned before, I try and do a mask throughout the week as I am doing something else. Sometimes though I do a hair mask and a face mask at the same time (bonus points if manage to wear both masks while I am soaking in the tub). I love coconut oil for my hair. It washes out nice and really makes my hair and scalp feel moisturized.
When it comes to my face I rotate through a few, but most recently this one - Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask - has been a house favorite (I say house because Nate likes it too). It is supposed to draw impurities; improve skin tone; tighten pores for smoother firmer skin; decrease the level of pro-aging toxins; works to soothe the skin, reduce redness, and improve evenness; hydrate the skins surface and contribute to tissue regeneration of the skin; lessen the appearance of wrinkles by reducing free radical damage and stimulating health collagen production; and help to reduce the creation of new wrinkles.
As you can see it has a lot of good things going for it (cruelty free, made in the US, etc), but the best part is it makes my face feel good and clean. It starts out feeling icy and kind of tingles, and as it starts to dry it tightens up. Then when you go to wash it off it also exfoliates a little because of the Hibiscus and Cranberry fibers that are in it. All in all we both really like it, and it smells good (BONUS).

Body Lotion
A luxe body lotion makes all the difference. Lately I have been loving rose scents (which is weird since I usually gravitate toward sandalwood and other manly smells). But being able to go to bed smelling yummy is a boost in self esteem for me. I am still trying to work through my hoard of Bath and Body Works, but this one is next on my list to buy.
Face Serum
When I put a mask on my face I always follow it up with super hydrating products (especially if it is a detox or clay mask). First up, Valentia's Royal Rose Hydrating Serum (LOOOVE THIS). The scent is perfect, just enough and not overpowering.

It also really soothes my skin and leaves it feeling hydrated. Overall I feel like it does everything it says it will:
Provide balance, moisture, and a variety of vitamins and minerals to the skin; fade away hyper-pigmentation, sun spots, and acne; quickly to lock in skin's moisture; provides light, non-oily moisture to the skin, never clogging or irritating the skin; reduces melanin production, thereby lightening the skin, revealing a brighter complexion; heals the skin, treating pimples, wounds, and sores.
I have actually been using a lot of Valentia products lately and overall I have noticed a big difference in the amount of acne scarring I have. It is getting so, so much better.

Hair Oil
Weather it is day 1 hair or day 4, one thing stays the same I put oil in my hair before bed. Kenra is probably my favorite brand for a hair oil/serum, like this one. I focus the product on my ends and the bottom layer of hair at the nape of my neck since those are the areas I have the most breakage. Then I loosely put my hair up in a top knot (with an alligator clip) and my hair is ready for sleep.
Face Lotion
I started using a night cream regularly probably a year ago, I wish I would have sooner. I truly am a believer that the more hydrated my skin is, the less oily it will be so I really try and pack in hydration with my night cream. Recently, I just got this one and am super excited to try it out.
Eye Serum/Cream
Finally I love to pamper my eyes. I have all sorts of eye masks and creams that I rotate through. The skin around your eyes is super thin so taking care of it is really important. I have already started noticing fine lines around my eyes so I am going at it hard!
And those are my main things! Of course I would love to add in some self tanning (I use this stuff in dark) or a mani/pedi but I will take what I can get. How do you focus on you? Any tips for carving out "you time" on the regular?
Thanks for stopping in!
