Friday Favorites | October 17

Okay, so today is going to be a mix of catching up on #blogtober posts as well as my Friday Favorites. I am doing this for two reasons:
1) It just makes sense that my favorite quote and favorite fall fashion looks are on my Friday Favorites
2) I have been traveling for work and got behind on posts...

So to kick it off, my #blogtober14 post from Wednesday was supposed to be my all time favorite quote and why...

This quote

Always remember you are braver than you believe...winnie the pooh quote, lettering art, vinyl wall decal
Old Barn Rescue Company
I chose this quote from Winnie the Pooh because it really just makes me smile every time I see it. It snaps me back into the reality even on my worst day, and reminds me of just what it says: I am Brave, Strong, Smart and Loved. I can do whatever it is I need to do.

These outfits

Thursday's post was supposed to be all about fall fashion, and as I have previously mentioned I have been looking around for the perfect outfits for a photoshoot that is happening at the end of the month. That being said, here are my favorite fall fashion pins!

Cute tights for fall   plaid shirt and fur vest over it... paired with leggings..

Tights, booties, fur and black - my fall essentials.

See more of my favorite styles by following my Pinterest boards here!

These mugs

I found them at Francesca's via Keep.com, and aren't they just perfect!?
Good Morning Gorgeous Mug - Francescas

Caffeine Mug

My puppy

Photo cred: Mr. Blair

Like I said earlier, I have been traveling for work this week so when my husband posted this picture of our lovely pup on Facebook/Instagram one morning I really started missing home.

 This song

So, this is just the perfect pump up for the weekend song don't you think?

That is all for me! What is on your favorites list this week?

Friday's Favorites | October 10

To start this Friday off I wanted to share a thought about blogging and how it has been for me so far. I never thought blogging would give me so much happiness. My intent with my blog was to help clear my head and just share what I wanted with whoever wanted to hear it, and I have accomplished that. I feel so much better now that I have an outlet to just say whatever I want and share my tips with whoever wants to listen. What I wasn't expecting was the way this world is a community and everyone is there to help everyone. When I open my blog each day I get almost giddy because I know someone has said something after reading my blog post that day. I have been lucky thus far and haven't had to deal with any a-holes (I know it is only a matter of time) but I am prepared for that mentally. So I just want to say thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my posts and those who leave a comment. It means so much to me to know someone, somewhere (other than my mom) is paying attention to what I write. Also a big thank you to the blog community for being such an encouraging place.

Now, on to my favorite things for the week.

Blooming Lily Boutique

So I am not quite sure on how I stumbled across this lovely Instagram account, but I am so glad I did and I feel like I need to share the pretties with you. The pieces they post for sale are just perfect and I have been obsessing over these boots, this shirt and this shirt. I have yet to buy anything, but their prices seem reasonable and I have not seen any negative feedback. I plan on making a purchase in the future but I didn't want to wait until then to share my latest InstaShop obsession.

Matrix Biolage Detangling Solution

Thank goodness my Nanna had this in her shower the last time I visited home or I would have never found it. This conditioner is so light-weight and perfect for my not so thick hair. Doesn't weigh it down and provides just enough moisture (I do a deep conditioning treatment once a week so I don't need something super moisturizing for the other times I wash my hair). I have been pairing it with my BIG shampoo from LUSH and the results have been amazing.

Shades of Kassie Top 10 Videos

So I watch a lot of YouTube videos about makeup/skincare/hair and all the things, and my favorite videos are usually the ones that come at the end of each month with that person's favorites. However, Shades of Kassie started a new collection of videos that are all about her Top 10's. These are great and she really gets into why she loves the products so much. Plus, the breakdown of her top 10 from ___ gives so many more options than a standard favorites video.

Centuries by Fall Out Boy

This song just gets me so pumped up, and is the most recent addition to my workout playlist.

Nike Training "Alpha Abs"

Okay, if you don't have this app go ahead and download it (google | apple). This workout seriously felt like my abs were tearing in half and it was exactly what I needed.

#Blogtober14

I am so thankful that Helene and Taylor set up this month long link-up. It has really kept me going and I have blogged for the past 10 days straight, sometimes more than once a day. Plus, there are some really great bloggers in the link-up so if you haven't checked out any of the posts you should do so now by clicking the #blogtober14 link below!

Friday's Favorites | September 5

We made it to Friday! Finally! Even though this was a short week, it felt really long to me. Add the really hot and humid weather on top of that and you bet I am ready for a relaxing weekend. Thankfully next week it is supposed to cool down and start feeling more like fall - but not too cold. As we make this transition, here are some of the things keeping me sane and therefore are my favorite things this week:
Musical Bliss
I jumped on the Spotify train a long time ago - like 3 years ago - but then jumped off because I didn't want to pay for it and my phone sucked. Well, I jumped back on this week and I am so glad I did! All kinds of music at your fingertips for free, and now that I have a better phone than my first smartphone it all works so much better. I had been on the iHeart bandwagon for a while, and Pandora had its phase, but Spotify is just so much more personalized.

Need some fun songs as your soundtrack for this Friday? Check out the "Have a Great Day!" playlist.
Eco Friendly Strawberry Lip Balm from Evolution of Smooth
Lip Heaven
I don't know why it took me so long to buy one of these little balls of lip joy that is EOS, but I love them so much. I have one at work and one at home, and as soon as I run out of my chapstick that I have tucked away in 5 other places (makeup box, purse, side table) I am replacing them with these lip balms. They are moisturizing, and smell/taste great. Most importantly, the packaging is great (things have to be pretty).

Did you know that EOS stands for Evolution of Smooth?

Foot Pillow
I do know what I would have done this summer without my Birkenstocks. Granted mine aren't actually Birks - sorry I have a mortgage and bills to pay - but they are still super comfy and look almost identical. I felt like they were the perfect summer shoe and I am excited to keep wearing them for the rest of the month at least as the weather is still above 65. Thanks again to my hubby for surprising me with them!

Complextion Perfection
I mentioned this little guy in my skincare post recently, but it has been my savior this week. With the weather acting a little crazy and my sinuses acting up my face dried out and therefore my texture of my skin got a little wonky. This took care of it for me and my skin looks just great again.

Check out my Insta for my makeup free selfie last night.

Last but not least, this song. I am not always a huge Taylor fan - more of an every now and then fan. This song though, I can't stop listening to it. I think partially because she is making fun of her self and telling all her haters to suck it. Go Taylor!

That is all for my weekly favorites, but I did want to end with a note on Joan Rivers. I'm not going to lie, I love her. I watched her every week on Fashion Police and she just made me laugh so much. I admired her "Don't Care What People Think" type of attitude, she just told it like it was. She was confident that is for sure. Rest in Peace Joan. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Here are some of my favorite quotes on life by Joan:

"I've had so much plastic surgery, when I die they will donate my body to Tupperware."
"Never be afraid to laugh at yourself, after all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century."
"At my funeral, I want Meryl Streep crying in five different accents."
"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is God's gift. That's why we call it the present."
"I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can't make it through one door, I'll go through another door—or I'll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present."
"I enjoy life when things are happening. I don't care if it's good things or bad things. That means you're alive. Things are happening."
Check out E! Online for more of Joan.
Have a wonderful Friday everyone! Do something fun and enjoy every minute of it!
xo,
KatiAnne
