Friday's Favorites | September 5

We made it to Friday! Finally! Even though this was a short week, it felt really long to me. Add the really hot and humid weather on top of that and you bet I am ready for a relaxing weekend. Thankfully next week it is supposed to cool down and start feeling more like fall - but not too cold. As we make this transition, here are some of the things keeping me sane and therefore are my favorite things this week:
Musical Bliss
I jumped on the Spotify train a long time ago - like 3 years ago - but then jumped off because I didn't want to pay for it and my phone sucked. Well, I jumped back on this week and I am so glad I did! All kinds of music at your fingertips for free, and now that I have a better phone than my first smartphone it all works so much better. I had been on the iHeart bandwagon for a while, and Pandora had its phase, but Spotify is just so much more personalized.

Need some fun songs as your soundtrack for this Friday? Check out the "Have a Great Day!" playlist.
Eco Friendly Strawberry Lip Balm from Evolution of Smooth
Lip Heaven
I don't know why it took me so long to buy one of these little balls of lip joy that is EOS, but I love them so much. I have one at work and one at home, and as soon as I run out of my chapstick that I have tucked away in 5 other places (makeup box, purse, side table) I am replacing them with these lip balms. They are moisturizing, and smell/taste great. Most importantly, the packaging is great (things have to be pretty).

Did you know that EOS stands for Evolution of Smooth?

Foot Pillow
I do know what I would have done this summer without my Birkenstocks. Granted mine aren't actually Birks - sorry I have a mortgage and bills to pay - but they are still super comfy and look almost identical. I felt like they were the perfect summer shoe and I am excited to keep wearing them for the rest of the month at least as the weather is still above 65. Thanks again to my hubby for surprising me with them!

Complextion Perfection
I mentioned this little guy in my skincare post recently, but it has been my savior this week. With the weather acting a little crazy and my sinuses acting up my face dried out and therefore my texture of my skin got a little wonky. This took care of it for me and my skin looks just great again.

Last but not least, this song. I am not always a huge Taylor fan - more of an every now and then fan. This song though, I can't stop listening to it. I think partially because she is making fun of her self and telling all her haters to suck it. Go Taylor!

That is all for my weekly favorites, but I did want to end with a note on Joan Rivers. I'm not going to lie, I love her. I watched her every week on Fashion Police and she just made me laugh so much. I admired her "Don't Care What People Think" type of attitude, she just told it like it was. She was confident that is for sure. Rest in Peace Joan. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Here are some of my favorite quotes on life by Joan:

"I've had so much plastic surgery, when I die they will donate my body to Tupperware."
"Never be afraid to laugh at yourself, after all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century."
"At my funeral, I want Meryl Streep crying in five different accents."
"Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is God's gift. That's why we call it the present."
"I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can't make it through one door, I'll go through another door—or I'll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present."
"I enjoy life when things are happening. I don't care if it's good things or bad things. That means you're alive. Things are happening."

Have a wonderful Friday everyone! Do something fun and enjoy every minute of it!
