Tradition

Oh hi there, yup it is me again. I swear one day I will get in a good routine and post regularly and with more exciting stuff than just our weekend recaps and pregnancy updates, but today is not that day.

[Friday]

Friday was most definitely a prep day for Saturday. After picking up one of my beautiful friends, we headed to the grocery and came home to start making food. She made pumpkin cupcakes (I heard they were amazing Princess) and I made a triple batch of Kornflake Candy which is still being eaten at my house. Eventually I picked Nate and some of his fraternity brothers up from the school's parking lot after they claimed a spot for Saturday. They then spent the rest of the night just being them, which is always entertaining.

[Saturday]

The day of FC Traditions started off bright and early with our Pi Phi breakfast. We ate, talked and sang like all good sorority girls do and then headed out to start tailgating. Our home base was with Nate's fraternity brothers, but we walked around quite a bit. I love my little school, it makes finding people so much easier. Eventually we wandered over to our Pi Phi suite to see how it had changed (it looks amazing btw), and then I decided it was definitely time to sit down.

Liv and I headed home sometime during halftime to let the dogs out for a bit and start my soup. Time obviously got away from us, because when we got back the game was over. We won, by quite a bit. So we helped clean up and then headed back to our house while Nate went to the SAE auction, with a don't spend any money warning from me (my warning didn't work). Eventually Nate and some of the guys joined us at a friend's house in town and everyone ate soup, drank (except me), and just hung out until it was time for the bar.

I honestly thought we would never leave the house. The bar we go to is always PACKED on homecoming weekend with all the alumni coming back trying to prove they still are able to drink like they did, and I eventually pulled the mom card and kicked everyone out to get the bar train going. Yup, I walked around my best friend's house turning off lights, TVs, candles and locking doors while ordering my friends to go to the bar. It was a reverse mom role of sorts. They listened though.

I obviously was that pregnant lady at the bar which made for some interesting conversations. Best one was probably between Nate's good friend and a random guy there with his wife, he was trying to tell the guy he was the father and Nate was obviously trying to set him straight. Eventually they just looked to me for the right answer of who my husband and father of the child was. That is just a snippet of the conversations that happened while at the bar. Oh those boys, always entertaining.

[Sunday]

Come Sunday morning I felt fine other than a slightly stuffed up nose from the cold the day before. Nate and I relaxed a bit and then I went into cleaning mode and made him help me clean and organize the entire garage. It looks amazing. I did some laundry too, but what I didn't do was the dishes. I hate dishes. By 8 p.m. we were crawling in bed and I was feeling miserable. I definitely overdid it this weekend. Lesson learned. I stayed up long enough to see that the Cubs were failing and thankfully not long enough to see the worst play ever by the Colts.

[This Week]

My Mom and Grandma are throwing my shower this weekend so I am headed that way with a carload of friends on Friday. Nate gets to be on dog duty all weekend, which I am sure he is super excited about.

City Date Night

I think this may have been one of our busiest weekends at home since we moved. It was fun though and that is what matters. Dinner with friends, football date nights and lazy Sundays - winning weekend.

[Friday]

Friday evening was spent cleaning our house as we waited for my friend and his girlfriend to get to town. Once they finally arrived we headed out for a late dinner and a lot of chit chat. It was the first time I got to meet her so it was really nice to just hang out.

[Saturday]

During the day Saturday, Nate was nice and productive and worked out, ran home and then built and painted a side table for our guest bedroom.

Meanwhile I went and got a few groceries to get us through the day, and then spent some time laying outside in the sun since it wasn't scolding hot for once. Then I spent some time stretching and doing exercises to try and relieve my lower back pain that has appeared lately before getting ready for our date night. Eventually we were off to Indy for the game.

Nail polish is Trust Fund Beauty in Elegantly Wasted (7-free, cruelty-free, vegan and non-toxic nail polish!) and all the makeup on my face is listed below. Shirt is from Anna's Style Boutique (it isn't available online anymore, but there are other cute ones).

On my face:

I hadn't actually been to Lucas Oil before so it was a first time experience for me. The only NFL game I have been to was in Tennessee and it was years ago.

The view from our seats was not too shabby. The atmosphere was nice and fun too, even though it was just a pre-season game. For the most part the starters were in the whole first half, but by the end of the third quarter we were on to third string players and we called it a night.

Hooray for self timers and a ledge right at the needed height!

Of course we had to get a picture of little Leighton's "first" game. He was kicking like crazy throughout it so we will just say he is a Colt's fan already.

(Almost) what I am wearing:

As soon as we got home we were both out pretty quick, and I was not mad about it. I am a huge fan of early bedtimes now.

[Sunday]

I woke up with a wicked headache and a bit of a sore throat so I slept as long as I could while Nate got up with the dog. The majority of the day was then spent laying down, cuddling with Remi, doing my exercises and eventually eating. I just was feeling exhausted and pretty much got nothing accomplished. I did make my way over to a friend's house to chat, shop her closet for our vacation this week and snag some zucchini bread though. So that was productive right?

[This Week]

We are getting ready to head off on vacation so these first couple of days will be spent madly cleaning and packing, while also getting everything ready for my friend who is house/dog sitting for us all week. We have never left Remi for this long before so here is to hoping he does okay with it. The friend we have staying with him is pretty much his best friend most times so I am sure he will love it. I am pretty pumped for our trip though. Unfortunately, my back isn't looking like it is going to allow us a day at the zoo, but we will see what happens! If not, I won't be mad about another beach day.

And here we go with another week!

I'm not ready for this

Um, hello winter. It is so nice of you to come in and take away time from fall. Just who exactly do you think you are!?

Yup, winter has hit full force in north east Indiana and it doesn't look like it is backing off any time soon. Last weekend it was perfect fall weather, but as soon as I decide to go to a football game all bets are off and it snows and drops to 30 degrees. So much fun. I did get to cross off more things from my fall bucket list though (I am sticking to it being okay to continue until Thanksgiving, no matter what the weather decides). Check out the updated one here!

Anyway, back to the weekend. Friday was dinner with family and then home to watch movies with my puppy. I did get some house stuff done but not near as much as I hoped.

Saturday morning was that time that I went blonde. Almost completely blonde, I am really liking it. Then I did a lot of scrambling around to get ready to leave for the Notre Dame game that afternoon. by noon we were South Bend bound and bundled up so much that I couldn't feel my toes.
