In Our Home with PEB Photography

I met Paige by modeling for a local boutique. I loved her photography and her great personality. We've used her for our family pictures a few times now and she will be doing them again for us later this year. These pictures are some of my favorites, Leighton's little personality is showing through so much. His love for his brother grows and grows each day now, and I love that it was captured early on in these pictures.

Hudson's Birth Story: Part 2

Picking up right where we left off here. (Part 1 is here)

April 28, 2017

There is nothing that motivates you to get up out of your bed and recover quickly more than the desire to see and hold your baby. As soon as I could stand to get into a wheelchair I did and we headed up to see our sweet boy. Nate had been going back and forth through the night/day and giving me all the updates as he got them.

Hudson's Birth Story: Part 1

Man, think life got the best of me or what!? Hudson is almost 3 months old now, so I really need to get his birth story up. If any of you follow along on social media, you know that his first week of life was not what we (or anyone) planned for. I've gone back through and collected Nate and my thoughts from updates we sent to family and friends and have it all here for you. I'll add in my little thoughts as I think back on everything in italics too.

Dear Leighton

Leighton Wayne,

I have been struggling with the words to truly express how I am feeling right now. There is such a muddy mess of excitement and almost guilt for the changes that are about to come your way.

You are my first baby boy. You made me a mom. You taught me what true patience is (a virtue I am still working on daily). You have shown me a love I didn't know existed. You have my heart. And the same can be said for your dad.

Now another little boy is going to come into our life. A little tiny human who is going to need a lot of attention that you may not completely understand. I know that you will be the BEST big brother in the world. That you will help mommy and daddy rock him and talk to him when he cries. You will be such a help.

A Child Who Reads

In honor of Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss' Birthday, we are here talking about books!

We have been very fortunate to have a little boy who has LOVED reading from the start. Honestly he could sit with us and a pile of books all afternoon and probably be completely content. That being said, he definitely has some favorite books that he reaches for over and over. You know they are his favorite because his will "read" them with you. One he actually will "read" TO you now.

Baby #2: 21 Week Update

Well, if you don't follow along on social media then you haven't heard the news. The wives' tales and ancient calendar predictions were all wrong. We are having another BOY!

For years, I have said that I wanted to be a boy mom and well it looks like that is the life God had planned for me. Baby #2, also known as Hudson, is joining this Blair Family.

We try and talk about the baby with Leighton so he has a chance at understanding what is going on. Every now and then he will lay his head down on my growing belly now and we are starting to have him tell Baby Hudson "goodnight" and "I love you" before he goes to bed now too.

Baby #2: Week 20 & Gender Predictions

We made it to week 20! Our big doctor appointment is this afternoon and we are so excited!

I have absolutely no idea what this baby is going to be. Nate wants/thinks it is going to be a girl. And if we ask Leighton if it is going to be a brother or a sister he 9/10 times says sister. Most of our friends say girl too, but again I think it is more of they WANT it to be a girl. Ha!

With Leighton I was so sure that he was going to be a boy, like from the beginning. I just really can't put a finger on what I am thinking now. Now that we will be finding out within the next 24 hours, I think it would be fun to address some old wives tales before we talk symptoms and baby growth.
