Perfect Hair Days

 photo PHD_zps97rcq8ux.jpg
What do these pictures have in common? Awkward non-smiles? Curly Hair? Lipstick? Yes all of those are true but not the answer I am looking for. The main connecting factor in all of these pictures are Eufora hair products and Pin Up Curls Salon

This past weekend during my friend's bachelorette party, I was responsible for a few people's hair. I went about it like I would with mine and sprayed some Full Effect in someone's hair and fluffed it. The next thing I knew, a couple more people wanted to use the spray and took pictures of the bottle so they could find it. It is truly amazing stuff, I love it.

So I have to give credit where credit is due. I would have never known about these products if I wouldn't have found my way into Pin Up Curls a few years ago. Those ladies know their stuff and their recommendations are always on point.

That being said, here are my go-to, ride or die, holy grail hair Eufora products (yup I love them that much).

Starting in the shower. I use the Volumizing Shampoo and Bodifying Conditioner (beautifying elixir line). Both of these are light and make my hair feel great without drying it out or weighing it down.

After my hair is about 85% dry, I go in and spray Boost (root lifting spray) and Volume Fusion Spray throughout the top half of my head. Mainly I focus on the areas that I would normally tease. Then I finish drying and round brush it all to seal in the volume.

After I curl or style my hair I lightly spray Elevate (firm workable finishing spray) to hold the style. If I have curled it or left it straight/wavy at all I will go in with Full Effect (dry texturizing spray) to add some oomph and grit.

Normally these products help to keep my hair looking amazing still on the second day and it is manageable on day three (enough to put it up somehow at least). However on the days when it needs some extra help to tame the oil I use Touch Up (texturizing dry shampoo) to add some life back into my locks.

Really these products are the best. If you live in Fort Wayne, IN or the surrounding area head over to Pin Up Curls Salon and pick them up for yourself. My hair used to be lifeless without a ton of teasing and I would have to wash it every day. Since I started using these products my hair game has forever been changed.

What are your holy grail hair products? Are you loyal to a brand? Have you tried any of these?

Discover | Pin Up Curls

 photo PinupCulrs_zpsnvqscai4.jpg

Time for another "Discover" post. This week I am featuring my favorite salon Pin Up Curls and their gorg owner - Erin!

(Yup, it isn't Saturday, but we are discovering anyway)

First things first, introduce yourself!! What drew you into hair styling? Did you always know that is what you wanted to do ?
My name is Erin Raber, and I am the owner and a stylist at Pin-Up Curls Salon. I’ve always loved doing hair and make-up. I started playing with make-up at the age of three. (Thanks mom for being my mannequin!! ) I was that girl that always had make over slumber parties. I really always wanted to be a hair dresser but like most of us it was frowned upon. My parents encouraged college first. I went to college for three years, had lots of fun, but ended up without a degree. Years passed, I got married, worked “jobs” and finally had a baby. When you are responsible for someone else’s life, things have to change! I did what was right for me and my family, and with my husband’s support, I went to beauty school at the age of 24. Best decision ever!

So the salon, any story behind the name or the style/theme of the décor?
I’m all about “does it feel right.”  I love old and new, classic and warm. I liked the name Pin-Ups first but a friend of mine suggested Pin-Up Curls and I fell in love!  I thought the name was a perfect blend of old, new and a little bit quirky just like us, “the Curls.”

Mermaid Moment

 photo EmilyKai_zpsb6vxxkeh.jpg

Morning lovelies! If you follow me on Instagram you have seen a sneak peak at this look today. If not, you should and you would be ahead of the game. But here were the sneak previews in case you missed it.

Onward to the look! For both of these looks I used a headband from Emily Kai (see the Discover post here). Aren't they gorgeous headbands?

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. I received the headbands c/o Emily Kai for reviewing purposes, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own honest thoughts.

These are definitely investment headbands, but the quality is great and they look so unique. Plus you are supporting local and that is always a plus. The packaging is also gorgeous and that is always a win for me. Now I have this perfect little box to hold headbands when I travel or other jewelry. Score!

Let's move on to the look and see how I styled both of these, shall we?

Friday's Favorites | March 6

And another week bites the dust! I still can't believe it is March already though, time seems to go ridiculously fast lately. This week was full of good things, among them was taking steps toward our new house. We have a closing date for our current house, and hopefully we will have an offer in on a new house by Monday. Thank you to anyone who sent positive thoughts/vibes/prayers our way lately. Other things that made me smile this week are below. Enjoy!

A Belated Valentine's Surprise

I mentioned before that Nate was out of town for Valentine's day and that we were pushing it back. Well we still haven't gone out to dinner because life has been nothing short of crazy but that doesn't mean he let's it take over. Among some other goodies, he came home with this rose last night after the gym. Isn't it gorgeous!?

This Match Made in Heaven

Eufora Style Boost- Root lifting spray Eufora Volume Fusion Spray 5.1 oz
The ladies of Pin Up Curls have done it again. I am in love with their most recent suggestion of pairing Eufora Style Boost (c/o) and Eufora Volume Fusion Spray (c/o) for seriously pumped up hair. I love volume, that is no secret and I have really been trying to not tease my hair as much so this was perfection! Last month you could get Boost from Pin Up Curls for 10%, and now this month the Volume Fusion Spray is the Stylist pick and you can pick it up for 10% off. So, if you are in the Fort Wayne area, or have a friend here do it! You will not regret it.

This Primer Water

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water is my new favorite. Not sure what is in this magic water, but it does the trick! I have noticed a definite change in how oily my face gets throughout the day. In love!

My Hair Through the Years

My hair has been through a lot in the past almost 24 years. Multiple colors, different variations of perms, all kinds of heating tools. You name it and I have very well tried it. From black hair to blonde, with red and purple in between. This is all because my Grandma is the best in the world and did whatever we asked her to, no matter how crazy. Growing up with a salon in your grandparent's house leads you to a life of trendy hair let me tell ya.

So I thought today I would take you down memory lane since I have an impending hair appointment where I am desperately craving a change (big or small).

We can start with the most current...the past two years

Currently I am an ashy blonde with ash brown low lights and my base is a lighter brown. This is probably the most light all over I have ever been and my hair is pretty long.

End of the summer, my hair was getting more light, but not as light as it is now. It was long by then. I had also decided I would stop using a tanning bed around this point so I knew I wanted lighter hair to make up for it.

Also during summer, roots/base still dark (my natural color). Rocking the ombre look.

Friday's Favorites | February 6

Happy Friday! So glad it is the weekend. I am beyond ready to spend time with my love before the real start of baseball traveling begins. Oh, the joys of an Athletic Trainer's wife (I know there are worse things, my sister-in-law is a Navy wife).

This Jimmy Fallon Video

Seriously, Fallon can do no wrong (especially when you add Will Smith in on top of it all).

Target

For real, walking in to Target is serious business. You never leave with only what is on your list. Last night I ended up with a bottle of wine I wasn't planning on getting, but I will never complain about that!

Flat White

Starbucks

Yup, call me basic. I love me some Starbucks and lately I cannot get enough of their new Flat White's. I got my first one on my way to Chicago a couple weekends ago and I haven't gotten anything different since.

This Dry Shampoo

Eufora Touch Up Clear Texturizing Dry Shampoo (c/o)
Let me tell ya, the ladies at Pin Up Curls know the way to my heart. Big, messy hair is my favorite and when I can get that on day two or three I am in heaven. Thank goodness they introduced me to their dry shampoo because it is my new favorite. It takes care of the oil and adds some grit/lift to my hair. Plus, they gave me the clear formula so I don't have to worry about making sure I have it all rubbed in.

I shared them with you yesterday, so check them out!
